Buon lunedì!
Oggi per la rubrica

vi propongo l'intervista (doppia) a
Mari di MariCrea e

in merito al loro libro

Happy Monday!
Today for the
Interview with the stylist
I will share with you the double interview with
Mari of MariCrea and
 about their beautiful book

e nasce proprio da due blogger appassionate dello shabby chic;

This book is born thanks to the collaboration between the two blogger,
who travelled around Italy taking pictures of shabby chic houses.
It is the first pubblication of this kind in italian and the good thing
about it is that is born thanks to two shabby chic passionate bloggers.
I think it is a good example of what passion for the same things, the friendship that it generates and the willing of collaborate can make!

MY INTERVIEW WITH MARI AND CINZIA

ME: How is the idea of a book dedicated to shabby chic in Italy born?

MARI: I've got the idea after taking pictures of a really scenographic atelier. I've told to myself that the pictures were really nice and that could be published. Also I thought that in Italy there still were not a book dedicated to the shabby chic style. As I felt I did not want to make this all alone, I thought to ask the collaboration of someone really near to my tastes, someone whit whom I could work together, and so I asked Cinzia to collaborate with me.

CINZIA: The idea was born simply realising that, even if in Italy there is a crescent interest in shabby chic, there were not italian pubblications about this style. Our initial intent was to fill this gap, thanks to the experience matured writting for our blogs posts and posts about shabby chic.

ME: How did you meet and decide to collaborate for realising this book?

MARI: We met thanks to our blogs. I saw some Cinzia'home pictures on her blog, and asked her the permission to post them on my blog too. Then, talking by phone, a good feeling is immediately born beteen us.

CINZIA: I met Cinzia thanks to her "Take pictures of your home" column: I sent to her some of my home's pictures and then we discovered we had a lot in common: same passion for deco, photography and, of course, shabby chic style. The idea of the book was originally just a dream, like a inner desire expressed aloud. To say the truth, I was quite sceptical about this project: too many times in my professional career I had to left projects because of the lack of disponibility and affinity with the people I've chose to work with. But with Mari it all has been so simple: we were both determinated and had a strong will to work on this book. Moreover we respect us a lot.

ME: What has been the most interesting part of this editorial adventure?

MARI: To me, the possibility of travelling around Italy, knowing a lot of beautiful people, discovering amazing houses and taking a lot, lot of pictures.

CINZIA: Without any doubts, taking pictures of the houses has been the most creative and dinamic part of our adventure.

ME: Last question, many people talk about shabby chic even if somebody still does not know what it it. So I ask to you: what is shabby chic in your opinion?

MARI: I think that the beauty of this style, is that it gives you the possibility to create something unique. The objects found at the antique markets, in the cellars and even at the garbage centres, are unique, they tell a history.
Moreover houses decorate with this style are, on the contrary of someone can think, very practical because they do not fear wear or spots...in fact they can just become more beautiful because of the signs of time passing by.

CINZIA: The shabby chic style is more of an interior design style, is in my opinion a way of life based on simplicity, on re-using old things. It could be defined as a traditional style originated from country style: it is indeed a very modern style, I think. Absolutely up-to-date, especially during this crisis period, because it allows you to decorate your home on a budget.
